Social Media, better get that in check

Hey Social Media, you’re distracting me!

After hearing about all of my friends getting pinned (“ouch!”) and hearing all the buzz about Pinterest, I decided to give it a try to see what I could potentially do with this new social media platform. Aside from another time suck, and my attempt to figure out how I’m going to use this, I don’t think it’s fair to give a full review until I feel like I know what I’m doing instead of just throwing pins around to see how much I can actually stick on my boards. Things are still a little bare over there, but you can follow me if you click on the tab over on the right of this post.

So, after wasting time questionably being productive with Pinterest, I tweeted out to my followers about having another distraction in my life. One of those followers, a friend, @rannpatterson openly commiserated with me about this “tool,” but also stated that it was a nice break from the doldrums of work and she felt pinning graphics can be quite therapeutic. If you need a pick-me-up and looking to be graphically stimulated, by all means give it a whirl.

Well, thanks to Rann, I woke up to this article that she forwarded to me and I thought I would just take a little time out of my day to respond.

Hey, I used all of my mad skills to budget time for this video.

Please watch it when you have set aside some of your own time to catch up on social media. Let me know what you think, and certainly chime in on some tools that you’re using to be more productive with social media in your life.
