The Impetus: A new series

Here at Innovative Nurse we’re always talking about how to support our community of nurses and other healthcare professionals to reach their potential with whatever goals they’re trying to achieve. Whether it’s the actual driving force behind innovation, paradigm shifts, or breaking the mold of the status quo, we’ll cover those topics here and discuss what others are doing to impact change. This series will be in addition to a resource section at Innovative Nurse (soon to be launched) that will refer to other leaders in the industry and promote their brands.

Today I would like to take the opportunity to promote two of my friends and colleagues, Keith Carlson, RN, BSN, and Lori Radcliffe, RN, BS.

Keith, from Nurse Keith Coaching, Digital Doorway, and RN.FM Radio will be hosting a free web series via CoursePark where he will discuss self-care and wellness for nurses. According to Keith, “these free webinars will occur every month for the next 12 months, and will be available in archived format for a very low price once the series has finished.” The series launches on July 12th at 12PM-1PM EST and you can register by clicking the CoursePark link above.

Rediscover what you like about nursing and harness that desire to achieve work-life balance. I have to say that I really enjoy working with Keith, and I appreciate everything he does to promote my own balance while running multiple businesses and projects. Keith, I consider you a brother and it’s an honor to be blazing these trails out here with you.

I also want to promote a new launch from another nurse entrepreneur, Lori Radcliffe. I’ve been following Lori for at least two years now and I have to say that it is also a pleasure to actually be collaborating with her on this new launch, the Certified Fitness Nurse™ Coach program. According to Lori:

“We ARE nurses interested in collaboration with physicians interested in nutritional medicine and finding health for their patients and other healthcare professionals interested in corrective, holistic therapies, prevention and acheiving healthy old age with and for the patient/client by:

SIMPLIFYING A SUSTAINABLE PROCESS for them:

  • We help patients/clients to improve their health; then reduce their waist as a result of that
  • We uniquely position ourselves between the physician/APN and the fitness professional
  • We are a patient/client-centered care option for physicians/APN’s looking to prescribe exercise & the best pharmaceutical-grade nutritional supplements to pre-diabetic/ hypertensive patients. (my ideal client example and not rehab or rehab-needed patients)
  • We teach tried & true principles of the 20/80 rule. We know it’s 20% exercise and 80% food, hormones and stress (dis-ease). But we keep that 20% (exercise) as a constant denominator in our client teaching as we improve client outcomes. (Also we are 20% Fitness and 80% Nurse in our practices)”

Her encore presentation this evening (July 11th) at 7PM EST will discuss “3 ‘Simple’ ways to connect with your Fitness Nursing clients, build confidence and respect, get paid what your deserve, without being pushy or mushy.” Be sure to join her tonight or check back for her archive of this presentation as she discusses how to step into the world of Fitness Nursing, and to execute it successfully. Lori, I’ll be there with you. Looking forward to it.
